The Head Naturalist is responsible for coordinating and supervising the Guides Department. This is a working supervisory position and includes leading hikes in the Denali backcountry, providing purpose, mission and significance of Denali National Park, natural and cultural history information and transporting guests, along with providing direction, development and training to other guides. The primary responsibility is to provide the highest quality of service to guests at all times through enthusiasm, knowledge of Denali National Park and strong communication skills. The employee works directly with the Management to create a scheduling matrix, including activities and educational programs for guests.
The candidate must possess a degree in outdoor education, recreation or related natural studies, at least two years of educator / trainer of natural history and supervisory experience, preferably a class B commercial drivers license with passenger and air brake endorsement, First Aid Certification, CPR Certification, and a strong customer oriented.
