Company History & Philosophy
Denali Lodges is an Alaska-based company established in 1992 and
committed to providing guests with the finest lodging and narrated Park
experiences available. We own and operate an exclusive Backcountry Lodge
located deep inside Denali National Park as well as a community of
Cabins just outside of the Park entrance. In addition to the lodging, we
conduct daily narrated wilderness bus adventures to Kantishna, the
historic mining district 95 miles inside the park boundaries. The
properties were built in 1989 and have been renovated about every other
year since then. We are currently in the process of adding 12 new cabins
and a Day Lodge to the Denali Backcountry Lodge to accommodate the
growth of the business and add value to the package deals for guests. At
the peak of the tourism season we employ over 60 people between the
properties and during the winter months the number reduces to about
eight.
Ecotourism is more than just a catch phrase for us; it's a management
philosophy and a way of life. As representatives to the natural splendor
of Alaska's unique and fragile environments, Denali Lodges is charged
with respecting and preserving these natural wonders and instilling that
stewardship mentality upon our guests. Through understanding comes
appreciation, through appreciation comes respect and through respect
comes preservation. Our employees consistently provide memorable guest
experiences while maintaining a low impact on the land. We are the
guests in this land so we strive to consider not just the wildlife, but
also their fragile habitat that we are fortunate enough to behold.
