Denali Cabins Jobs

Denali Cabins are conveniently located just 8 miles south of the entrance to the Park, far enough from the crowds but close enough to the activities. Our collection of authentic cedar cabins offers an affordable alternative to the big commercial hotels sprawling the park entrance. Guests can choose from one or two room cabins with many of the amenities of home. We offer guests courtesy transportation to the park entrance, complementary continental breakfast, family-style dinner service, two outdoor hot tubs, and a peaceful setting to plan the rest of their Denali adventure.

General Site Manager - GSM (AMG)

Summer 2008 (May 27 – September 15)

 

Description of job duties: The GSM will work with the President to establish policies and procedures. The General Site Manager supervises all aspects of operations at the Site (Lodge or Cabins), which includes ensuring all departments are successful by providing oversight, tools, supplies, equipment, knowledge, experience and training needed to maintain a high level of guest service. GSM will work as a Human Resource Specialist in the areas of payroll, coaching, disciplinary action, training and team building. This is a hand on position involving taking ownership of the Site.

 

Required: The candidate must have 5 years previous hospitality management experience; some of that experience should be remote lodge(s), a valid drivers license and clean driving record, current 1st Aid/CPR certification, current Alaska Techniques of Alcohol Management (AK TAM), enthusiasm and a strong customer oriented attitude.

Guide /Park Road Driver

Summer 2008 (May 27 – September 15)
 

Description of job duties:           The primary responsibility of this position is providing a high degree of service to guests through cordial interactions as well as accurate and enthusiastic interpretations of the natural and cultural history related to Denali National Park, pointing out wildlife and serving beverages during breaks. The employee is responsible for safely transporting guests and works with the General Manager to assure efficient operations. 

 

Required: Excellent communication skills and experience in guiding or interpretive presentations and a clean driving record. The candidate must possess a Class B commercial drivers license with passenger and air brake endorsement, current 1st Aid/CPR Certification, enthusiasm and a solid customer oriented attitude.

Logistics Lead

Summer 2008 (May 27 – September 15)

 

Description of job duties: This position facilitates transport of goods and guests in and around the Denali park area. It works with the G.M. to assure quality control and efficient operation of vehicles and logistics processes. The Logistics Lead organizes and maintains Department of Transportation documentation, logistics warehouse space and bus manifests, dispatches driving staff, and completes vehicle checklists and schedules bus maintenance work. The primary obligation of this position is to provide a high quality of service to guests by overseeing operations and being

knowledgeable about the properties and services.

 

Required: The candidate must possess one-year logistics experience or related education, a valid Class B commercial drivers license with passenger and air brake endorsement, current 1st Aid/CPR Certification, enthusiasm and a strong guest oriented attitude.

 

 

 

Assistant Manager AGM

Summer 2008 (May 27 – September 15)

 

Description of job duties: The Assistant Manager is responsible for working with the G.M in overseeing daily operations of the Denali Cabins, including employee training and supervision, delegation of tasks, dissemination of policies and procedures, and providing a high quality of service to lodge guests. The employee will exercise consistent discretion and judgment in the performance of the work.

 

Required: The candidate must possess two years prior hospitality management experience, a valid drivers license, current Alaska Techniques of Alcohol Management (AK TAM), current 1st Aid/CPR Certification, enthusiasm and a strong customer oriented attitude.

Maintenance - Relief

Summer 2008 (May 27 – September 15)

 

Description of job duties: Assists with inspections and performs maintenance repairs. Maintains facilities and areas according to established Company standards. Performs equipment inspections and assists with repairs, in essence, keeps all facilities running smoothly. The position requires very comprehensive skills with an excellent knowledge of water, septic and propane heating systems as well as electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.

 

Required: The candidate must have some prior maintenance experience, a valid drivers license, a strong customer oriented attitude, willingness to learn and take pride in his/her work.

Shuttle Driver-DCM

Summer 2008 (May 27 – September 15)

 

Description of job duties: This position entails a great deal of guest interaction, in addition to operating shuttle on schedule. The employee is responsible for transporting guests and baggage in and around Denali's entrance area, maintaining the vehicles, loading and unloading luggage and goods and other tasks. The primary responsibility is assisting the management and other departments as needed to facilitate the smooth operation of the Site and to maximize the guest satisfaction. The Van Drivers are also required to make delivery to and from Denali Backcountry Lodge and make shopping runs as and when necessary. Management may assign other duties.

 

Required: The candidate must possess one-year prior hospitality experience, a valid drivers license (CDL with air brakes endorsement, highly desired), clean driving record, as well as enthusiasm and a strong guest oriented attitude.

Lead Housekeeper

Summer 2008 (May 24 – September 15)

 

Description of job duties: The Housekeeping Lead performs basic housekeeping tasks (including laundry & cleaning guest rooms) and is responsible for training, assigning work to staff, scheduling staff as well as maintaIning inventory, ordering supplies, and keeping all facilities stocked, tidy and clean. The primary responsibility of this position is providing a high quality of service to guests by meeting and exceeding their requests and expectations. The employee works with the management to streamline processes and ensure the necessary resources are available for smooth and efficient operation.

 

Required: The candidate must have at least two years of housekeeping and supervisory experience, enthusiasm and a strong customer oriented attitude.

Front Desk Manager

Summer 2008 (May 27 – September 15)

 

Description of job duties: The Front Desk Manager is directly responsible for supervising daily activities of front desk clerks, enforcing policies and procedures, and working with guests on a situation specific basis to assure overall satisfaction. This position must train, coordinate and schedule activities of front office employees in addition to creating guest reservations and maintaining room inventories and maximize room revenue. The primary responsibility of the Front Desk Manager it's provide a high quality service to guests by being cordial and exceeding their lodging expectations. Front Desk Manager also acts as manager on duty in absence of General Site Manager and/or Assistant General Site Manager.

Description of job duties: Routinely washes and cleans. This position is also responsible for keeping all guest rooms, public buildings and facilities and buses in a clean and orderly condition and replenishing supplies. The employee works with the Lead Housekeeper to achieve the primary goal of providing a high quality service to guests at all times. The employee may also be responsible for grounds keeping. Description of job duties: The Maintenance Manager, in essence, keeps all facilities running smoothly. This position is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and continued improvements of the facility as well as preventative maintenance of the vans and equipment. Description of job duties: This position facilitates transport of goods and guests in and around the Denali Park area. The Logistics Expediter organizes and maintains logistics space and bus manifests. The candidate ensures that all passengers and supplies are loaded on the buses as required and reconciles any difference encountered. The primary obligation of this position is to provide a high quality of service to guests by providing assistance and being knowledgeable about the properties and services.

Continental Breakfast Attendant & Staff Cook

Summer 2008 (May 27 – September 15)

 

Description of job duties: This position requires an early riser who has experience with light food preparation and presentation. The primary responsibility is preparing, setting up and restocking the continental breakfast bar, and interacting with guests to provide high quality of service to the guests. Also, the candidate must prepare meals for staff. 

 

Required: The candidate must have a minimum of one-year hospitality or server experience, enthusiasm and a strong customer oriented attitude. Also, the candidate must relocate to Denali during the whole summer season, the pay rate is $9.00/hr. Person will work 60 hrs a week, 10 hr per day, 6 days a week.
